Celtics Add More Depth: Former First-Round Guard Devin Carter Headed to Boston

　　The defending NBA champion Boston Celtics aren’t done tinkering with the roster just yet. According to Hoopshype, the team has reached a deal with guard Devin Carter, the 22-year-old who was cut loose by the Atlanta Hawks just days ago. Carter, a first-round lottery pick in 2024, will now head to Boston’s training camp. He’ll be fighting for a regular or two-way contract, hoping to stick around.

　　Carter never got a chance to suit up in Atlanta—he was waived before seeing the floor. But his talent? It hasn’t gone unnoticed. Several teams kicked the tires, but it was the Celtics, hungry for bench reinforcements, who made the move.

　　Last season with the Sacramento Kings, Carter put up a tidy 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists in just 18.4 minutes per game. That’s the kind of all-around guard play any contender could use.
